Basket Case Farms proudly works with partners around Waxhaw & Charlotte to provide food options to communities in need.

Lakeview Neighborhood Alliance (LNA) is the designated Community Quarterback for Charlotte’s Lakeview neighborhood through United Way of Greater Charlotte’s United Neighborhoods initiative. Guided by their mission to Engage, Educate, and Empower, LNA works alongside residents and community partners to strengthen Child & Family Stability, Economic Mobility, Prevention of Displacement, Civic Awareness & Cultural Responsibility, and Youth Future Readiness. Through their place-based services model, we bring trusted organizations directly into the neighborhood, reducing barriers to care while helping residents build a self-determined, self-actualized, and self-governed community through the LIVE GR8TLY Ecosystem Plan.

Since 2022, Basket Case Farms has been a valued place-based partner in Lakeview Neighborhood Alliance’s work to strengthen child and family stability while advancing one of the eight principles of the LIVE GR8TLY Ecosystem Plan: Equity in Care & Relief, Powered by People. Together with the Gambrell Foundation, Basket Case Farms helps remove barriers to healthy living by bringing fresh, locally grown produce directly into the Lakeview community through our weekly Take Care Tuesdays Community Farm Share. Designed with dignity at its core, residents are invited to select the fruits and vegetables that best meet their family’s needs, free of charge and without proof of income or documentation, because access to healthy food should be simple, welcoming, and rooted in trust.

For LNA, this partnership represents far more than food distribution. It is part of a broader, community-led approach to health and wellbeing that places compassion, cultural relevance, and accessibility at the center of care. In 2025, Basket Case Farms participated in approximately 60 place-based services with LNA serving 1,136 residents, and residents rated the program an average of 9.6 out of 10, describing it as “one of the best services” available in the neighborhood.
