The Bulb has been invaluable in helping our small farm distribute food to people in need. We made our first delivery to The Bulb in March of 2020. Shortly after that time, the reality of Covid settled in and forced everyone to make changes. Expanding their market area around the city, establishing a “home base” at Garinger High School, and offering free drop-off to those in need during Covid-19 are all a testament to their mission. We appreciate The Bulb’s vision to benefit the health of vulnerable and food insecure neighborhoods.
Their mission is to provide mostly local produce, as well as education on health and wellness, to food insecure neighborhoods.

Hickory Grove Baptist Church Food Pantry
Donated 2,601 pounds of hydroponic lettuce to date
The Hickory Grove Food Pantry assists families experiencing financial hardship. Basket Case Farms provides our hydroponic lettuce to them on Monday afternoons. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the Hickory Baptist Church Pantry teams up with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department and Mt. Sinai Baptist Church to deliver to areas in West Charlotte. This partnership is another way we ensure that our produce is delivered to the right people.
