About Us
Basket Case Farms began on family land in Waxhaw, NC – land passed down through generations, and land we knew could become something more. As we watched people in our community struggle to access fresh, healthy food, we saw an opportunity to use the land to grow and provide produce for those in our community who needed it most.
In 2018, we planted our first seeds with that mission in mind. Since then, we’ve partnered with local communities and nonprofit organizations across the greater Charlotte area, donating 100% of what we grow to neighbors facing food insecurity. We continue to look toward areas where food injustice contributes to health and social challenges, meeting our community where the need is greatest.
We believe food is fundamental to a healthy, thriving life. Food is nourishment to bodies and communities alike; it brings people together. That belief is at the heart of everything we do at Basket Case Farms, from the produce we grow to the neighbors we serve. We plant our seeds and steward our land for a healthier, more connected community.
